In 1919 a group of producers and traders from Lucca decided to join forces and start one bigger and stronger company together.
One of the founders was Filippo Berio's heir, who was already selling his brand of olive oil, the forefather of the Fontana family, today fourth generation owners of the company.
It is also thanks to the first hand involvement of the fourth generation of the Fontana family that Salov is one of the few olive oil companies to maintain its 100% Italian citizenship. |
